Robust Fractional-Order PID Controller Tuning Based on Bode’s Optimal Loop Shaping.Lu Liu & Shuo Zhang - 2018 - Complexity 2018:1-14.
This paper presents a novel fractional-order PID controller tuning strategy based on Bode’s optimal loop shaping which is commonly used for LTI feedback systems. Firstly, the controller parameters are achieved based on flat phase property and Bode’s optimal reference model, so that the controlled system is robust to gain variations and can achieve desirable transient performance according to various control requirements. Then, robustness analysis of the controlled system is carried out to support the results. Furthermore, the parameter setting is analyzed (...)

Normalized Robust FOPID Controller Regulation Based on Small Gain Theorem.Shuo Zhang & Lu Liu - 2018 - Complexity 2018:1-10.
In this paper, a normalized robust FOPID controller regulation algorithm is proposed. Only one parameter k is necessary to be tuned in the controller regulation process, so the proposed control algorithm is convenient to be applied on both fractional-order systems and integer-order systems. A robustness evaluation function is constructed based on the small gain theorem. Larger robustness evaluation function value will help the system achieve better robustness performance. Another parameter, β, is also available to serve as a tuning knob when (...)

Understanding the Effects of Emergency Experience on Online First-Aid Learning Intention: The Mediating Role of Psychological Distances and Prosociality.Shuo Zhang, Huijing Guo, Xiaofeng Ju & Jiantao Ma - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 12.
The fast-paced lifestyle resulting from China's rapid economic development has caused more than 500 million sudden cardiac deaths in 2020. Online first-aid education for the public is considered a key potential solution to avoid such incidents and would have great practical value. This study focuses on understanding the impact of past first-aid experience on the intention for online learning of first-aid knowledge and skills from the perspective of individual psychological factors based on the construction level and prosociality theories. More specifically, (...)

The Positive Impact of Having Served as a Danwei Leader on Post-retirement Life Satisfaction: Experiences in China.Li He, Kun Wang, Tianyang Li, Jiangyin Wang, Yuting Wang, Zixian Zhang, Yuanyang Wu, Shuo Zhang, Siqing Zhang & Hualei Yang - 2021 - Frontiers in Psychology 12.
Relevance deprivation syndrome refers to feelings of incompetence among retired people caused by them leaving their high status or influential jobs. The question then arises: do people in positions of power, like Danwei leaders in China, have a lower life satisfaction post-retirement compared to other groups? This study investigated the influence of serving as a Danwei leader before retirement on retirees’ life satisfaction, as well as differences in this influence and the channels through which they are affected. Based on the (...)

Why did they get in trouble? The influence of firm characteristics and institutional distance on Chinese firms’ foreign market entry attempt.Shuo Zhang - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 13:972384.
Despite the rich body of research on the outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) by Chinese multinationals, little attention has been given to the fact that China’s OFDI is facing a high failure rate even in their initial attempt to enter a foreign market. Grounded on institutional theory, this study provides a nuanced view of the expansion dynamic of Chinese multinational firms overseas using a unique dataset that contains both successful and troubled Chinese foreign market entry attempts between 2018 and 2021.
